Staying with family

With so much to do onsite and locally, Poltarrow Farm is the pefect place for families of all ages

At Poltarrow we live and breathe Family Friendly and lots of what we do is aimed at making sure EVERY family is happy – it’s a cliche to say that if the children are happy, the parents are happy but it is true!  Many of the families that stay with us come back time and again – the reason? There’s just so much to do – so no matter if it’s animal feeding on the farm or hitting the coast, every day will be filled with fun for toddlers to teens.

Lightening the load

As we know only too well, a little one adds a whole new dimension to going on holiday (not to mention a pile of extra luggage).

We like to think that we are well-equipped to welcome families with young children and have to borrow the following:

Our Nursery Box (which included blender, monitor, plates, cutlery, nightlights etc), black out blind, bed guards, hop-up step, wooden cot, high chair and there is also use of our pushchairs, booster seat, baby carrier and toddler carrier.

Animal Feeding

As a family farm we have of course got a lot of animals for our younger guests to meet and feed.

The morning visits to feed the animals with Kate are a great time to get your boots dirty and learn about the farm and animals.  These are always a hit with Mum, Dad, Granny and Grandad as well as the children.

Depending on the time of the year you’ll be able to feed and find out a little more about the variety of animals who call Poltarrow Farm their home.

Around the farm

Around the farm children can stay active and creative,  discover how to fish on our lake, row a boat, groom a pony and much, much more….

Swing from the climbing frame, picnic in the fields, walk the farm trail, the list goes on …….

Rain never stops play, the indoor swimming pool, tennis, badminton, pool and climbing wall in the Sports Hall requires lots of energy, but for the creative minds, the Tumble Room provides a soft play area, dressing up box, toys,  books  – no need to get bored here.

Indoor Swimming Pool

In the pool the water temperature is kept at a baby-friendly 30 degrees, there are walk-in steps and a continual depth of 1.4m so it’s easy for you to be in the pool with  little ones.  In addition there is a changing mat, Bumbo and play pen.
